Catholic school offering free preschool program
JANESVILLE St. John Vianney Catholic School has started a new, once-a-week preschool program called ABC@SJV.
The free program is held Thursday mornings in the school’s gymnasium.
Toddlers, preschoolers and their parents/caregivers enjoy story times, art projects and music programs.
Activities also include the use of gym equipment—soccer balls, a mini basketball hoop, tumbling mats, hula-hoops and a parachute. Students learn to hold scissors and pencils and how to use glue for art projects.
The program started in December. Participating students have ranged in age from 9 months to 5 years, according to a news release. The program is supervised by Suzanne Claas, a parent and former
elementary-school teacher.
ABC@SJV meets from 9:30-11 a.m. most Thursdays at St. John Vianney School, 1250 E. Racine St. Dates this month are March 14 and 21.
For more information, call the school at 608-752-6802 or visit the program’s Facebook page, ABC at SJV.

oneheck....., if you can read while pasting Genesis then that's a good start for reading your bible. There's no way you've read it straight through.
And, ask Jesus who wrote Genesis and get to back to us on his answer. Lots of scholars claim it was Moses. See what you can find out.

Excuse me! What is wrong with a local Catholic School offering a pre-school program that is free? The Catholic Church has a deep history in promoting social programs that benefit the "poorest among us". The newly elected Pope just reminded us of that. When I was a child, all Catholic Schools were free to their members. It saved me, coming from a dysfunctional family. I am, by the way, not the greatest Catholic around these days but I DO appreciate what I had. Way to go St. John's.

One must ask one's self. Who is more foolish, An antichrist atheist spending countless hours reading a bible about a god they say does not exist and then trying to convince christians of what they believe?
or
An antichrist atheist trying to understand a book inspired by a god they say does not exist?
Which one of the 2 is the more ignorant?

No god is needed to explain the cure for polio.
Your god hypothesis is made ven less credible when it is considered that he let that misery and death be inflicted on the innocent, as he of course does to this day in other ways.
Invisable, undetectible: the two main traits of your god.

oneheck....., let's see, you are now claiming you prayed for them. That's interesting because when you first posted on the incident, what you managed to type was how prayers, or whatever, got you $5000 from the Tea Man -and how badly you needed that money due to your near vehicular homicidal (times two) behavior.
Your attempt to convey a special religious experience on this site should have had you mentioning how you prayed for your victims. But no, it was all about you and how your conniving (with the help of the lord!) helped lessen your self-caused problems by skirting the full force of the law. You have no credibility when it comes to claims of positive regard for your victims. It's all about you.

gfan -You are right. I never mentioned it. Except for where I said I prayed to god. I didn’t tell you what I prayed to god, but I did tell you I prayed to god. I think this would be the prayer where you say I am supposed to go into the closet and pray. Right? Your attempt to make it seem like I show no concern is pitiful at best. Why don’t you grow up? Is this all you have to worry about? My prayer? Are you that ignorantly shallow?
Your attempts to discredit me are as sad as your attempt to act civil. You are a failure to yourself and all those around you. So give it up. I don’t want you to cry to Scott again and get my post deleted. Sharpen your pencils and be that good student you claim to be. Make us all proud,

wow. seems to me more evidence that the church is more concerned about the state of the population than the obviously rebellious "no government (ever), no speaking of God, no discipline due to fragile minds" athesists. They are providing arts, music, hula hoops and crayons! Not shoving a Bible (or scissors) down the throats (or in the backs) of those who, by the way, can't repeat any Bible passages (from memory or repeating after someone else). If you aren't interested in taking your 9 month-old to 5 year old to a church (GASP), then DON'T....but please don't complain that you have to pay someone else for this service, when it is provided at no charge by a former under-paid and over-worked teacher who REALLY DOES CARE ABOUT THE CHILDREN! sheesh. Some people have absolutely NOTHING to do except complain. Please move to Iraq or something.

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

It does seem that a few of our local atheists can't resist offering some outrageous comment or another on stories such as this one. Stories like these seem to be a threat to their fragile belief system. They can't handle stories about religious folks doing good things for anyone, especially children. It contradicts their absurd contention that religion and the folks who practice it are a danger to kids. So they lash out in a feeble attempt to slander anything a religious organization may try to do. Hence we get antagonistic comments such as those below about innocuous stories such as this one. It's truly pitiful.
