Myron "Butch" Robert Hiscox, Whitewater (1948 - 2008)

Myron “Butch” Robert Hiscox, 59, of Whitewater, WI, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at his home after a brief illness. Butch was born in Lake Forest, IL, on July 22, 1948, the son of Myron O. and Helen (Elfstrom) Hiscox. He graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1967 and he received a Bachelor's Degree in History from the UW-Whitewater and a Master's Degree in Social Studies. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves in Lake County, IL. On Nov. 20, 1971, Butch married Susan M. Hansen in Madison, WI. He taught at Franklin Junior High School in Whitewater from 1974 until 1981. He worked as an Insurance Agent until 1989 when he began teaching at Fort Atkinson High School. While pursuing his passion for the game of golf, Butch was head coach for the Fort Atkinson boys’ golf team and started the girls’ golf team, serving as head coach until 2007. He also served as an assistant coach for football and basketball and was a member of the Blackhawk Booster Club. Butch served as an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater Women’s golf team and was a member of the Wisconsin High School Golf Coaches Association. Butch was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater.
Surviving are his wife, Susan M. Hiscox of Whitewater; daughter, Erika Hiscox of Milwaukee, WI; son, Ryan Hiscox of Madison, WI; 3 sisters: Frances (Lawrence) Anderson pf Naples, FL, Carole Niemeyer of Naples, FL, and Margo (Patrick) Shriner of Lake Bluff, IL; 3 brothers: David Hiscox of Palatine, IL, Raymond (Ann) Hiscox of Libertyville, IL, and Alan (Lisa) Hiscox of Libertyville, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at the FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 401 W. Main St., Whitewater, WI, with Rev. Steven Hanson and Rev. Jerald Wendt co-officiating. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at NITARDY FUNERAL HOME, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, and after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the CHURCH until the services.
