Earl P. Gottschalk, Darien  (1918 - 2008)

Earl P. Gottschalk, 89, formerly of Darien, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Willowfield Nursing Home in Delavan. He was born on Oct. 31, 1918, in Lake Zurich, IL, the son of Louis and Emma (Heinson) Gottschalk. He married Doris Bethel on April 7, 1945, in Lake Zurich, IL; she passed away on Jan. 3, 1990. Earl was the Owner and Operator of the Darien Elevator Feed Mill in Darien for many years. He was an active member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational in Delavan.
He is survived by his son, Michael Gottschalk of St. Charles, IL; four grandchildren: Tom Gottschalk of Darien, Shannon (Jimmy) De Persia of Palatine, IL, Michael Gottschalk of Chicago, IL, and Nikki Paddock of Elkhorn; three great-grandchildren: Dylan, Nora and Izabel; nieces and nephews; also dear friends, Cindy and Rob Paddock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; and two brothers, Clarence and Elmer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST-CONGREGATIONAL in Delavan, with Rev. Laura McLeod officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the CHURCH. Burial will be at the Darien Cemetery in Darien, WI. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ-Congregational. MONROE FUNERAL HOME, Delavan, is assisting the family.
