Silvana M. Cummings, 52, of Janesville, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008, at Mercy Hospital. She was born on Dec. 9, 1955, in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Lidamo and Francesa (Giannechini) Centini. Silvana graduated from Ossining High School in New York in 1974, and from Berkley College in White Plains, NY, in 1976. She was a child care provider for many years. She loved the New York Yankees, soap operas, ceramics, cooking her special spaghetti sauce, playing club pogo on her computer, and babysitting. Silvana was a people person and a good listener, who everybody liked being around.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and Robert, both of Janesville; granddaughter, Kesa Parr of Beloit; sister, Michelle Jordan of Chester, NY; brother, Anthony Bernardo of Briarcliff, NY; and her two dogs, Apollo and Coral. In addition to her parents, she was pre-ceded in death by her brother, Michael Bernardo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Father John Auby officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH-ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, Janesville, and on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the CHURCH.
