Inez M. Smith, Elkhorn  (1909 - 2008)

Inez M. Smith, 98, formerly of Park Lane, Elkhorn, WI, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Vintage on the Ponds, Delavan, WI. Inez was born Sept. 15, 1909, in Sharon, WI, a daughter of Frank and Ruth (Kerr) Horch. She graduated from Elkhorn High School with the Class of 1928. She then attended a college in Chicago, IL. In 1929 Inez married Harold Dunlap in Elkhorn. Harold died in 1935. In 1940 she married Charles Smith in Elkhorn, and he died in 1958. Inez worked as a legal secretary for several years for a local attorney, then she moved to the Walworth County District Attorney's Office, and later to the Clerk of Courts in the position of Court Reporter, a job she held for over 30 years, retiring in 1976.
Inez is survived by her two grandchildren, Todd (Sharon) Wrzesinski of Walworth and Tim (Tammi) Wrzesinski of Lake Geneva; six great-grandchildren: Erik, Samantha, Danielle, Ashleigh, Cody and Hunter Wrzesinski; and a sister, Eleanor Olsen of Streator, IL. Inez was preceded in death by her two husbands, Harold Dunlap and Charles Smith; two daughters: Beverly Dunlap and Patricia Wrzesinski; and a brother, Gene Horch.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at HAASE-DERRICK-LOCKWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made in Inez's name to Lakeland Animal Shelter.
