Kathryn "Kate" Pichotta, Janesville  (1935 - 2008)

Kathryn “Kate” Pichotta, 73, of Janesville, died peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2008, at home, with family by her side. She was born in Dixon, IL, on Jan. 31, 1935, the daughter of George and Lucia (McWethy) Gates, and was a graduate of North Central College. She was a teacher in the Janesville School District for many years instructing Spanish, Biology and Phy. Ed at Parker and Marshall Schools, as well as later for St. Paul’s Lutheran School. Kate spent 12 years teaching at a Montessori school on Isla Mujeres, Mexico, following her retirement from Janesville Schools. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the League of Women Voters.
She is survived by her three children: Peter (Diann) Pichotta of West Salem, WI, Joe (Naomi) Pichotta of Milwaukee, and Heidi (Tad) McLain of Janesville; four grandchildren: Jack, Delaney, and Ryan Pichotta, and Tessa Pichotta-LeTourneau; a brother, Richard (Phyllis) Gates of Dixon, IL; and two sisters, Marilyn (Jim) Jordan of Noblesville, IN, and Joan (Lynwood) Jones of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Daniel Pichotta.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Cory Burma officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
