Robert H. Pettibone, Elkhorn (1930 - 2008)

Robert H. Pettibone, 78, of Elkhorn, died unexpectedly on May 10, 2008. He was born on March 10, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to Russell and Josephine Pettibone. On June 13, 1953, he married Eleanor Fay Gettis in Beaufort, SC. Robert was a Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Korean War. Upon his return, Robert served as a drill instructor for the Marine Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. Robert began his long career in law enforcement at the East Troy Police Department. He continued his career at the Walworth County Sheriff's Department, where he retired in 1986.
Robert is survived by a son, Robert G. Pettibone of Madison; four daughters: Karen (Bob) Stickney of Elkhorn, Judy (Daryl) Brylow of East Troy, Donna Elkhorn, and Cathy (Greg) Wilson of Cambridge; two grandsons, Kevin Schulz of Burlington and Matthew Wilson of Cambridge; one granddaughter, Kathryn Fay Wilson of Cambridge; one brother, Richard (Nancy) Pettibone of Chattanooga, TN; and a sister, Betty Mahuta of Plymouth. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Russell Pettibone; a grandson, Michael Schulz; and his beautiful and beloved wife, Fay.
A visitation will be held at the BETTS FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, from 4 until 6 p.m. BETTS FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
