Theresa A. Nelson, 78, of Janesville, died on Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center, following a long illness with Cancer and Parkinson’s. She was born in Janesville on June 1, 1929, the daughter of John and Valeria (Liebe) Piekarski. She married Lyle S. Stavn on May 20, 1949, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1973. Theresa later married Kenneth H. Nelson on Sept. 22, 1978, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2003. She had been employed by Amphenol Corporation and the Parker Pen Company for a total of 46 years and was an active union representative and mentor to all co-workers, showing consideration and respect to everyone. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two children, Carol (Garry) Perkins of Edgerton and Kevin S. Stavn of Janesville; two grandsons, Mark (Lindy) Perkins of Madison and Eric Perkins of Janesville; great-granddaughter, Emma A. Perkins; two stepsons, Keith (Lisa) Nelson and family in Mechanicsburg, PA, and Roland Nelson and family in San Antonio, TX; brother, Gerald Piekarski of Wisconsin Dells; and two sisters, Izetta Weir of Janesville and Winifred Weir of Lynden, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; five brothers: Marion, John, Louie, Paul and Daniel; and three sisters: Connie West, Vernetta Riegert and Genevieve Jensen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
