Mary Bass, 81, of Janesville, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Alden Meadow Park Nursing Home. She was born on Dec. 29, 1928, the daughter of William and Marie (Gillespie) Warner. She married Paul Bass. Mary had been employed by Seven-Up Bottling Company and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton. Mary loved to play the organ and enjoyed painting landscapes. Gifted with a natural athletic ability, she enjoyed touch football, softball, water skiing, and dance skating.
Survived by her husband, Paul; sons, Larry and John (Barbra) Bass; grandchildren: Robert Cortinas, Kelly Hoium, Tony Hoium, Theresa Hoium, Ruby Deering, and Marshall Deering; brother, William (Bill) Warner; numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerome Warner; and sisters, Grace Kretchman and Genevieve Tomten.
A Mass of Christian will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton, with Monsignor James Uppena officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
