John "Jack" David Mc Clain, Edgerton (1920 - 2009)

John "Jack" David Mc Clain, 89, of Edgerton, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the Edgerton Hospital. He was born on Jan. 20, 1920, in Madison, son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Mc Clain. He was united in marriage on Jan. 6, 1951, to Esther Juris at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains, WI. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Edgerton. John's special loves were his family and his faith. He enjoyed watching the Packers, the Badgers, playing Euchre at the Decoy on Thursdays. He taught Catechism for many years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the V.F.W. and a Union Steward for the C.W.A. He volunteered for the Parkside Lodge Teen Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center in Edgerton and contributed to many other Organizations. He served in the Army Air force, were he was stationed in England.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Esther of Edgerton; three daughters: Pat (Jim) Tobin of Lynxville, WI, Kathy Garwell of Edgerton, and Laura (Terence) Lucey of Madison; three sons: Dan (Gretchen) Mc Clain of DeForest, Paul (Lisa) Mc Clain of Brandon, FL, and Jay (Lisa) Mc Clain of Goldsboro, NC; 13 grandchildren: Jared, Jessica, Aly, Kasi, Ariel, Donovan, Edi, Patrick, Alicia, Mason, Matthew, Jonathan, and Rich; and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Damien. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline and Jean; and two brothers, James and Harold "Buddy".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, EDGERTON, with Father David Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME (US HWY. 51 S.), Edgerton, from 5 until 7 p.m., and at the CHURCH on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be a Rosary held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7 p.m. Full Military services will be held at the Cemetery by the Edgerton Memorial Squad.
