Geneiva Quade, Milton  (1921 - 2009)

Geneiva Quade, 88, of Milton, WI, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, surrounded by her family. Geneiva was born on Aug. 31, 1921, in Crawford County, WI, daughter of Harry and Margaret (Zintz) Bacon. She attended rural Rock County grade schools, Janesville High School, and Whitewater State Teachers College. She married Willard Quade on June 1, 1946, at St. John Lutheran Church, Janesville. Geneiva taught rural Rock County grade schools for a number of years. She had been a 4-H leader, and was a member of Women of the Moose #477 & St. John Lutheran Church in Janesville, where she was active with several circles of the E.L.C.A. Geneiva enjoyed supporting all activities her family was involved in. Family gatherings were always very important. She liked gardening, working with flowers, yard work, cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed her times with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Willard; six children: James (Mary) Quade of Milton, Diane Willyerd of Janesville, David Quade of New York, NY, Daniel (Kim) Quade of Stillwater, MN, Jeffrey (Dana) Quade of Federal Way, WA, and Steven (Julia) Quade of Janesville; a brother, Beauford (Virginia) Bacon of Janesville; two sisters, Gladys Starks of Janesville, and Eva Reed of Milton; grandchildren: Sarah and Angela Quade, Jennifer (David) Richard-Monroe, Michael (Melissa) Richard, Evan and Eric Quade, Kate, Anna and Grace Quade, Emma Quade; stepgrandchildren: Chase and Amanda Garcia, Dustin and Jessie Willyerd; great-grandchildren, Cade and Brynn Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet; a brother, Earl; a son-in-law, Geoffrey Willyerd; and two brothers-in-law, Ernest Starks and Lawrence Reed.
A special thank you to the I C U at Mercy Hospital, especially nurse Deb Dunlap, for her compassionate caring of Geneiva and her family. Also, thanks to Pastor Bond Haldeman for his hospital visits, comforting thoughts and prayers.
Memorials may be made in Geneiva’s name to the St. John Lutheran Church organ fund.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Parker Drive, Janesville, with Rev. Bond Haldeman officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville, and at the Church from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday. Assisting the family is HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME (608-741-1713).
