James T. Conway, Janesville (1928 - 2009)

James T. Conway, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at his home. He was born in Youngstown, OH, on Sept. 1, 1928, the son of James M. and Elizabeth Conway. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Betty Peterson on June 23, 1956. Jim attended high school in Boardman, OH, and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1957. He worked several years for Rock County Savings and Trust. He practiced law as the Assistant District Attorney for Rock County. He later maintained law offices in Edgerton and Brodhead. After leaving the law practice, he began a career in farming, as well as pursuing other interests. Jim had a brilliant mind and could accomplish anything he'd decided to do. He was passionate about making a difference and devoted much of his time and energy to various causes and people. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling, carpentry, computers, nature and peaches.
Jim is survived by his four children: Jamie Conway (Jeff Kirby), Randy (Orinda), Scott (Sirena), and Kim (Todd) Clement; four grandchildren: Cole Sather, Logan, Colton, and Grant; his four siblings: Marilyn, Sarajane, David, and Robert; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father; and his loving wife, Betty, just 6 months prior on April 6, 2009.
A private family gathering to celebrate Jim's life will be held in Youngstown, OH, on October 23 and 24, 2009.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Care Inc. as well as all of the wonderful friends, neighbors, and extended family who have helped and supported Jim during his battle with prostate cancer.
