Catherine “Cathy” I. Grenning, 75, of South Ash Street Whitewater, WI, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Cathy was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Kansas City, KS. She was the daughter of Nealy and Bessie (Powell) Williams. Cathy attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She was married to Ronald Mandell on Dec. 6, 1953, in Kansas City, KS. Ronald died May 26, 1981. On April 12, 1982, in Estes Park, CO, she was united in marriage to Robert M. Grenning, Sr. Bob died March 19, 2010. Cathy was a licensed beautician, owning her own beauty shop in Kansas for over 10 years. In 1972, Cathy became a licensed real estate broker and was currently working for Shorewest Realtors. Cathy was a member of Millard Community Church, Whitewater Kiwanis Club, Wisconsin Realtors Assoc, Walworth County Homemakers and was a former 4-H leader with LaGrange 4-H Club.
Cathy is survived by her nine children: Gail Ferber of Denver, CO, Stephen Grenning of Palm Springs, CA, Michael (Kathryn) Grenning of Spring Grove, IL, Christine (John) Meddaugh of Milton, WI, Mark Grenning of Las Vegas, NV, Rhonda Howard of Milton, Matt (Janice) Grenning of Arlington Heights, IL, Kathleen (Warren) Gilbert of Elkhorn, WI and Julie Grenning of Delavan, WI; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ronald and Robert; one infant son, Dennis Duane; one brother, Jesse “Bill” Williams; and one sister, Etta Everheart.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at MILLARD COMMUNITY CHURCH, N6713 County Road O, Elkhorn, WI, with Rev. Lyle Heinitz officiating.
