Clarence Allen Rash, Janesville  (1928 - 2010)

Clarence Allen Rash, 81, a longtime Janesville resident, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Canton, GA, where he had resided the past two years. He was born in Janesville, WI, on Feb. 28, 1928, son of Everett and Edna (Allen) Rash. He attended Janesville High School and graduated with the class of 1947. He served in the Army from 1950-1952. Clarence married Alice Mae Anderson on June 1958 in Minnesota. He was employed as an engineering tech at Alliant Energy (WP&L) for 42 years. He was a member of Cargill Methodist for 17 years, then St Peter's Lutheran for 47 years, and was a Janesville resident for 78 years. Clarence was a member of Alliant Energy Pioneers Club, VFW, Moose Club, and Junior Achievement leader. While in high school he was active with the Rost Eagles Baseball Team, JHS Basketball team and the JHS Glee Club. He was active with the JHS Class of '47 Reunion Committee, was a Meals-on-wheels volunteer, a member of Pearl Street card club, and Waveland Road card club.
Surviving are three daughters: Elaine Rash Amacher, Marjorie Rash, and Sue Rash; two granddaughters, Katie and Kelly Amacher; three nephews: Wayne Rash, Gary Rash, and Jim Rash; a niece, Diane Rash Jones; a sister-in-law, Florence Rash; and his lifelong friends: Dick Ott, Cliff Voegeli, and Dick Ramsdell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Rash; mother; father; two brothers, Clifford and Cleda; and three sisters: Wilma, Elva, and Velma.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1422 Center Ave., Janesville, with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post #1621. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the CHURCH. Memorials may be made in Clarence’s name to the Disabled American Veterans. Assisting the family is HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, Janesville (608-741-1713).
