James V. Williams, Glendale, AZ/Janesville  (1924 - 2010)

James V. Williams, 86, was born on April 10, 1924, in the Chicago area and died after a brief illness in Glendale, AZ, on Oct. 5, 2010. He had lived most of his life in Janesville and retired to Florida, and later to Arizona. In 1952 he married Kay Carrol of Baraboo, who passed on in 1989. He had been employed by the City of Janesville and R. T. Madden Co. for 25 years. He was an Army veteran of WW II, a longtime member of VFW, and an avid fan of the GB Packers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
He is survived by three sons: James (Connie) Williams of Janesville, Jay (Starr) Williams of Glendale, AZ, and Jodey Williams of Janesville; two daughters, Linda Hornsby of Janesville and Connie Bouton of Janesville; one brother, Robert (Phylis) Williams of Milton; and numerous beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; two sons, Raymond and John; his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
Jim was a hardworking and caring man, and loved exercising, enjoyed long walks, dancing, bowling, and spending precious time with the grandchildren.
There will we a gathering for family and friends at the home of LINDA HORNSBY at 1322 Sharon St., Janesville, on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
A special thanks to Jay and Starr for their devoted time, care and love during Dad’s later years.
