Bernard R. Smith, 76, Brodhead, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Woods Crossing Nursing Home, Brodhead. He was born on April 2, 1934, in Albany, WI, the son of Marvin and Arvetta (Wiedman) Smith. He married Velda Wahl on June 26, 1957, in Brodhead. Bernard was a truck driver for Knight Mfg. of Brodhead, retiring in 1996. He also was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He loved the outdoors and being with family.
He is survived by his wife, Velda of Monroe; two sons, Tim (Kathy) Smith of Brodhead and Todd (Judy) Smith of Appleton; four grandchildren: Emily, Lindsey, Heidi, and Sarah; and a great-grandson, Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor Steve Groves officiating.
