Donald "Don" R. Phetteplace, Beloit, WI  (1935 - 2012)

Donald “Don” R. Phetteplace, 77, of Beloit, WI, went home to meet his Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born June 17, 1935, in Wauzeka, WI, the son of Wilson and Lorraine (Rice) Phetteplace. Don was a 1953 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Shirley Jane Blocksom on Sept. 4, 1955, in Logan Square Methodist Church, Chicago, IL.
Don was employed by Beloit Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping; however, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Don was a Green Bay Packer fan. He was a member of the Beloit Corporation Quarter Century Club and Central Christian Church, where he ministered to the homebound, was part of many church functions, and was known as the “official cookie baker”.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Phetteplace of Beloit, WI; children, Judy (Oscar) Mueller of Delavan, WI, and Michael (Lisa) Phetteplace of Neenah, WI; grandchildren: Mathew Dodson of Bozeman, MT, Kathryn (Stephen) Seese of Cleveland, OH, and Shawn Phetteplace of Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren: Tori, Travis, Zachary and Matthew; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Stuart (Catherine) Phetteplace of Janesville, WI; and brother-in-law, Eugene Engen of Orfordville, WI; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Nancy Engen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in CENTRAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 2460 Milwaukee Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating. Entombment will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday in the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Monday in the CHURCH.
