John C. Evans, Darien, WI  (1951 - 2012)

John C. Evans, 61, of 516 Danielson Drive, Darien, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, as the result of injuries in an ultra-lite crash. He was born Feb. 28, 1951, in Beloit, WI, the son of John R. Evans and Greta Buckley. John graduated from Delavan-Darien High School and UW-Whitewater, and later received his Masters Degree in Education. John did two tours of Duty with the U.S. Marine Corp. in Viet Nam. He married Kathleen McKinney on June 26, 1976, at Triune Lutheran Church in rural Darien, WI.
After the Marine Corp., John worked for the State of Wisconsin as a State Trooper for 20 years. John more recently taught inmates in the corrections system to get their GED. John was past member of the Darien EMS and Fire Dept. He was an avid Cubs fan and Green Bay Packer fan. John loved his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Kathy of Darien; two daughters, Elizabeth (Travis) Meinen of Delavan, and Emily (Ed) Snyder of Walworth; one sister, Sally (Terry) Walsh of Delavan; four grandchildren: Emma, Matilda, Margaret and Meredith.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at TRIUNE LUTHERAN CHURCH, rural Darien. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time at the CHURCH. Private burial follows the funeral luncheon in Darien Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to Triune Lutheran Church or Darien EMS.
