JANESVILLE—Joseph “Joe” Frank DeBartelo Jr., 70, of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Hospital early on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Joe was born May 28, 1942, to the late Joseph and Blanche (Porter) DeBartelo, Sr. in Waukegan, IL. Joe graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Kenosha. On January 17, 1964, he married Rosemary Becker in Waukegan, IL. He was the Project Manager for Frank Bros., Inc. in Milton where he worked for over 40 years, prior to retiring this summer. He made many good friends throughout those years. For many years he enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his Harley and taking care of his yard. Joe was hard working, devoted and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed being up north and just recently completed his dream home there where they planned to enjoy retirement. Joe's granddaughter, Danielle, was the apple of "Papa's" eye and he loved spending time with her and his beloved boxer Max.
Joe is survived by his wife, Rosemary DeBartelo of Janesville, WI; children: Deanna DeBartelo of Los Angeles, CA, Kimberly Ann (DeBartelo) McCaskey of San Diego, CA, Joseph Frank (Lindsey) DeBartelo III; grandchild: Danielle Jo DeBartelo; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Blanche DeBartelo Sr.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton, WI.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton with Msgr. James Uppena officiating . Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, MILTON from 5 PM until 7 PM and from 10 AM until the start of service at the church on Friday.
