Wendy L. Pope, Edgerton, WI  (1952 - 2012)

Wendy L. Pope, 60, of Edgerton, joined her parents in heaven early on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. She passed away at Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital, with her loving husband by her side. Wendy was born on Aug. 4, 1952, in Edgerton, WI, to Theodore “Ted” and Bessie (Carroll) Trulson. She was a graduate of Edgerton High School and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. After graduating, she began her teaching career at Edgerton Elementary School, and on July 23, 1977, she married the love of her life, Dale E. Pope. She taught until 1981, when their first child was born. At that time, she retired from teaching to fulfill her dream of being a mother. She raised four wonderful children and in 1999, resumed her career as a teacher at Edgerton Elementary School where she continued teaching through the start of the current school year.
Wendy was a lifelong member of Central Lutheran Church. Her strong faith in God was revealed daily in everything she did. Throughout her illness, her faith in God never wavered despite the challenges she faced. She was a true disciple of God.
Wendy’s true enjoyment in life was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to new and distant locations. She especially treasured the times with her children and grandchildren.
Wendy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dale; four children: Katie (Rhett) Precourt of Edgerton, Emily Pope of Edgerton, Alex (Arie) Pope of Janesville, and Jenna of New York, NY; six grandchildren: Seth and Piper Precourt, Isaiah Arnold, Elijah Cutting, Deonica Pauls, and Ava Pope; two brothers, Ted (Ginny) Trulson and Rob (Peggy) Trulson, all of Fountain Hills, AZ; two brothers-in-law, Dick (Pat) Pope and Chico (Dawn) Pope; and sisters-in-law: Judy (Bob) Tomczyk, Jane (Ron) Bauer, Peg (Tim) Rusch, and Kathy Pope.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Ted, who passed away in September of 2011, and Bessie, who passed away Nov. 30, 2012; and a brother-in-law, David Pope.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with Pastor James Johnson and Pastor John Gorder officiating. Burial will be in Jenson Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation times will be Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES, Edgerton, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the CHURCH.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Wendy’s name to Central Lutheran Church or Edgerton Community Outreach.
