Larry D. Hatlevig, age 61, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg, after a courageous year and half battle with lymphoblastic lymphoma cancer. Larry was born on Sept. 4, 1951, in Janesville, the son of the late Stanley and Pauline (Rasmussen) Hatlevig. He married Jackie Davies on Feb. 12, 1993, in Janesville. Larry attended Janesville Schools and graduated from Parker High School in 1970. He worked at Janesville products and later at Oscar Meyer in Madison. He retired from Oscar Meyer in October 2012. Larry had a great love for his family and his three girls: Tessa, Chloe, and Hope. He loved his 1970 Chevelle, going to car shows, racing, and camping with family and friends.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Hatlevig of Madison; two sons, Brandon (Mandy) of Bellville, and Royce (Stacy) of Janesville; four grandchildren: Tyler, Dominick, Noah, and Leah; four sisters: Kathleen (Tom) Mills of Racine, Pat (Harley) Jung of Fort Atkinson, Kathy Hatlevig and Linda (Troy) Williams, both of Janesville. Larry is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marilyn Davies; three sisters-in-law: Maxine (Denny) Wachter, Barb (Gary) Kovars, and Diane (Dick) Wilkinson; and two brothers-in-law, Stan (Heidi) Davies and John Davies. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Riley; and a brother, Jerry, who just passed on Sept. 28, 2012.
Larry and his family would like to thank Dr. Chang and her nurse, Sara, as well as all the nurses and staff at UW Hospital and Clinics for their support throughout his fight with cancer.
A funeral service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the FENNIMORE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH located at 1540 2nd St. in Fennimore, with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening, Dec. 14, 2012, at the LARSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Fennimore, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the CHURCH on Saturday morning.
