Philip Risseeuw, Clinton, WI  (1930 - 2012)

Philip Risseeuw, 82, of Clinton, WI, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Lakeview, SD, the son of Abraham Wm. and Sadie Odens Risseeuw. Philip was a lifelong Clinton resident and a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Dona Fell on May 8, 1954, in St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beloit, and shortly thereafter was drafted into the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged in 1956, and honorably discharged from the Army Reserves on July 31, 1962. He was a longtime farmer in Clinton, lifelong member of Emmanuel Reformed Church of Clinton and enjoyed being with his family and, especially, keeping tabs on his children and grandchildren.
Philip is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dona; five children: Philip A. (Tana) Risseeuw of Darlington, WI, Judy (Jack) Roberts of Milton, WI, Randy (Sue) Risseeuw of Beloit, WI, Robert (Brenda) Risseeuw of Shopiere, WI, and Jan (Loren) Bobolz of Janesville, WI; twelve grandchildren: Ben (Molly Teske) Risseeuw, Isaac Risseeuw, Jackie (Chad) Moe, Merrill (Karli Lloyd) Paynter, Pamela (Ryan) Wellnitz, Dylan (Lauren) Nass, Jameson (Diedra) Nass, Michael Risseeuw, Melinda Risseeuw, Jacob Bobolz, Kalyn Bobolz and Neleah Bobolz; seven great-grandchildren: Anthony, Tyler and Aubree Moe, Rya and Jayda Wellnitz, Kara Paynter and Willa Nass; one brother, Ivan (Delores) Risseeuw of Clinton; one sister, Wilma (Ron) Meyer of Darien, WI; one brother-in-law, Terry (Arlene) Fell of Beloit; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; four sisters: Marie (David) Hiemstra, Carolyn (Marion) Logterman, Bernice (Harold) Gunnink, and Elma (Erwin) Kruizenga; one brother, Harlan (Janice) Risseeuw; one brother-in-law, Richard (Beverly) Fell; and one sister in law, Marian (Ralph) Nebel.
The family extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to Pastor Clyde Rensink, Dr. Leo Egbujiobi, the Critical Care, Special Care Units and Dialysis Units of Beloit Memorial Hospital and the Town of Beloit EMT’s who took such wonderful care of Philip. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Philip’s Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at EMMANUEL REFORMED CHURCH, 319 East Street, Clinton, WI, with the Reverend Clyde Rensink officiating. Interment will be in the Clinton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the EMMANUEL REFORMED CHURCH and from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the CHURCH.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be given to Emmanuel Reformed Church or Beloit Memorial Hospital Dialysis Unit, 1969 W. Hart Road, Beloit, WI 53511.
