Richard Allen Henry, age 65, of Miller, MO, passed away at 12:37 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. He was born on October 7, 1947, in Rochester, MN, the son of Lloyd and Mabel (Hartleip) Henry. Richard graduated from Bryon High School in Bryon, MN, and served as a U.S. Army Green Beret during the Vietnam War. Richard retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, Illinois where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Everton, MO, and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and racing and loved the outdoors. On July 11, 2001 he married Janice Englund in Las Vegas, NV.
Richard will be sadly missed and loving remembered by his wife, Janice, of the home; five daughters: Stacy Bodeau, and husband, Mike, of LacDuFlambeau, WI, Abby Dupre and her husband, Jesse of Anchorage, AK, Melisa Hinojosa-Esparza of Janesville; Brenda and Jennifer Hillistad of Rockford, IL; one brother, Gerald Henry and his wife, Mary, of Rochester, MN; one uncle, Lester Hartleip of MN; seven grandchildren: Mercedes Henry, Kirk Henry, Allison Dupre, Jesse Dupre, Jr., Ashley Prater, Adam Prater and Devyn Mapel; and many special friends and relatives. His parents preceded him in death.
Local arrangements were under the direction of MORRIS-LEIMAN-MOSHER FUNERAL HOME in Miller, MO. A memorial service will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in the VFW in Janesville, WI. A gathering will be held at the Eagles INN (meal not included) after the memorial service. Burial will be held at a later date at the Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
