Clifford Floyd "Cliff" Davis, Sr., Beloit, WI  (1932 - 2012)

BELOIT, WI—Clifford Floyd “Cliff” Davis, Sr., age 80, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, WI. He was born on April 3, 1932, in Edgerton, WI, the son of Edward and Lillian (Woodward) Davis. Cliff married Betty Spahn on June 26, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sun Prairie, WI. Cliff was a U.S. Navy veteran and was honorably discharged on April 2, 1954. He worked for 36 years at General Motors in Janesville, WI, retiring in 1994, and was in charge of the apprenticeship program for the union. Cliff enjoyed fishing and was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Beloit.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Beloit; three sons: Clifford (Deborah) Davis, Jr., of Juno Beach, FL, William (Kathleen) Davis of East Troy, WI, and Peter (Tiffani) Davis of Holly Springs, NC; five grandchildren: Acacia, Nathan, Zachary, Bennett and Emersyn; and his siblings: Marian (Marvin) Gray of Janesville, WI, Carolyn Grumbling of Inverness, FL, Marge Ivey of Lewes, DE, Betsy (Louis) Brummond of Holiday Island, AR, Edith (Ken) Masterson, Rollie (Sandy) Davis, Robert Davis, and Dorothy (Jim) Dopkins, all of Janesville. In addition to his parents, Cliff was predeceased by a brother, Dick Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the CHURCH. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Redemptorist Fathers.
