Marilyn J. Arneson, Janesville  (1932 - 2012)

Marilyn J. Arneson, 79, of Janesville, died at Mercy Hospital on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Marilyn was born on March 30, 1932, in Aberdeen, SD, to the late Joseph and Marie (Thoms) Steitzer. Marilyn graduated from Milton Union High School in 1950. Shortly after high school, she would marry Philip Arneson on Sept. 27, 1952, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Janesville. Marilyn was a very active volunteer, and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was an avid knitter, quilter, and baker. In her spare time she loved going to car shows and looking at old cars, playing the organ, camping, reading, doing Sudoku puzzles, spreading the word of Jesus, and being a good friend and helping hand.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Philip Arneson of Janesville, WI; four children: Donald (Judi Young) Arneson of Hillsboro, OR, David (Jodi) Arneson of Janesville, WI, Carol (Delos) Jacobs of Milton, WI, and Christine Arneson of Janesville, WI; seven grandchildren: Jamie (Rachael) Lindemann of Evansville, Derek Arneson of Milton, Justin (Kaitlin) Jacobs of Lake Mills, WI, Denise (Brian) O'Morrow of Tucson, AZ, Lisa Arneson of Janesville, Chad Spangler of Eau Claire, WI, and Tim Spangler of Madison, WI; five great-grandchildren; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Billy Jacobs; great-grandchild, Marcus Lindemann; and one brother, William Steitzer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012, at ST. MARK'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Paul Speerbrecker officiating the service. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH-ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, MILTON from 4 until 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at the CHURCH on Friday.
