Debra Maye Schlegel, 58, of White Creek, WI, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Debra was born on May 5, 1954, in Janesville, WI. She was the daughter of Eugene and Evelyn (Ostrander) Jensen. She married Kerry Schlegel on May 10, 1972, in Freeport, IL. She worked at Clean Sweep in Beloit, WI, before moving to White Creek, WI, in 2002. Debra enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Debra is survived by her husband, Kerry Schlegel; her daughter, Melissa (Kenny) Pulliam; two sons, Christopher (Jill) Schlegel and Dakota Schlegel, all of White Creek. She is further survived by grandchildren: Garrett Brewster of Beloit, Dylan, Jordan, Katelyn and Kolton, all of White Creek; six brothers: Mike (Georgie) Jensen of Fort Atkinson, James (Margaret) Jensen, Garry (Kelly) Jensen, Robert Jensen, Scott Jensen, all of Janesville, and Gene (Nicky) Jensen of Wabasha, MN; four sisters: Darcy (Ken) Gasch, Sherry (Dale) Grams, both of Janesville, DJ (Johnny) Juliano of Missouri, and Theresa (Michael Grippando) Eberley of Kansas City, KS; many nieces and nephews; and several work and bingo friends. She will be missed by her three dogs: Abby, Angel and Rascal. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Vickie Jensen.
A Memorial Service will be held at the SALVATION ARMY, 809 Broad Street, Beloit, WI, Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with Pastor Shane Jensen officiating. Friends and family are asked to send expressions of sympathy prior to the service to the Salvation Army. A luncheon will be held at the Salvation Army after the service. The family is asking everyone to please bring a dish to pass.
