Mary L. Kynell, Alden, IL (1947 - 2012)

Mary L. (Ainger) Kynell, age 65, passed away on Oct. 31, 2012, at Florence Nursing Home in Marengo, IL. She was born July 12, 1947, to Gladys and the late Alan Ainger of Harvard, IL. She married Michael C. Kynell on Oct 23, 1965, in Hebron IL. Mary ran the Hebron Senior Citizen's Center and made lunches at Alden-Hebron Schools for a number of years in the 80s. She was an active member of Alden United Methodist Church and chaired many Turkey Dinners and Chicken and Biscuit dinners. She owned Champion Pizza of Hebron, IL, from 1988, for approximately 20 years.
Mary will be remembered for her beautiful, vibrant soprano voice where she carried the congregation as she sang as an active long-time member of Alden United Methodist Church. She also sang with the Queens Vagabonds Choral Group in Harvard for a number of years. As an active member of the community, she raised her children in 4-H, was a member of Hebron Homemakers and was a Past President of the McHenry County Cooperative Extensions Homemakers.
Mary is survived by her mother, Gladys Ainger of Harvard; her mother-in-law, Sigrid Kynell of Walworth; three children: Karen and Muhannad Tanbour of Chicago, IL, Kevin and Angie Kynell of Walworth, WI, and Kristen and Wesley Jasinski of Glencoe, IL. She leaves five beloved grandchildren: Maya, Michael, Holly, Brody and Clay. She is also survived by siblings: George and Kathy Ainger of Harvard, Nancy Weigle of Morton, IL, David and Carol Ainger of Harvard, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael C. Kynell in 1994; her father, Alan Ainger in 1987; her father-in-law, Stanley Kynell in 1992; and a brother-in-law, Gordy Kynell in 1994.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at ALDEN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Alden, IL, with Rev James Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Linn-Hebron Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at TOYNTON'S WALWORTH FUNERAL HOME in Walworth, WI.
