Betty Ann "Bea" Soetaert, Evansville, WI (1935 - 2012)

Betty "Bea" Ann Soetaert, age 77, died Thursday Nov. 1, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Janesville. She was born on Jan. 12, 1935, the daughter of Edward and Hattie (Harnack) Benash. She worked for the Nunn Bush shoe factory in Edgerton, and then for the Evansville Manor Nursing Home, Evansville, before retiring. Bea married Robert O. Soetaert on Feb. 20, 1953, in Janesville, he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2005. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. Bea enjoyed reading, putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing cards in card club. She liked to watch sports and was an avid Nascar, Packers and Badgers fan. Her true enjoyment was to go gambling with her sister, Fern, and daughter, Debra.
Betty is survived by her children: Debra Soetaert, Linda (Jim) Gallman, Douglas (Suzi) Soetaert, all of Evansville, Ronald (Mary) Soetaert of North Carolina, and Dawn Soetaert of Indiana: 12 grandchildren: Sarah, Megan, Andrew, Ainae, Anicia, Zach, Brynn, Maren, Alana, Anthony, Genell and Melissa; three great-grandchildren, a sister, Fern McCoy; three sisters-in-law: Bev Gibson, Rita Soetaert and Marcia Benash; several nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; three brothers: Edward, Robert and Eugene; and a sister, Lorraine Fenrick.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, Town of Center, with Reverend David Lieske officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Town of Center, Rock County. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the CHURCH on Monday. WARD FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
