Esther Mae Drendel, age 92, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at St Mary’s Hospital, Janesville, She was born on Dec. 5, 1919, in Batavia, IL, the daughter of Matthew and Anna (Kaiser) Molitor. Esther married Vincent Drendel on Oct. 25, 1941 in Batavia, IL. They farmed in the Naperville, IL, area until moving to rural Evansville, WI, in 1963.
Esther was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the ladies aide, White Star Homemakers, Wisconsin Master Farmers, Wisconsin Soybean Association and Evansville Golf Association. She liked to bake, enjoyed reading watching movies and sold Avon for 25 years.
Esther and Vince wintered at the Villages in Florida for 28 years and loved to Golf even scoring her own hole in one. Esther loved her family, spending time with them and taking care of them. She will be deeply missed.
Esther is survived by her husband of 71 years, Vincent Drendel; four children: Connie (Chris) Dickert, Ron Drendel, all of Evansville, Diane (Thomas) Solberg of Eau Claire, Rose (Michael) Motelet of Brooklyn; five grandchildren: Lori (Jeremy) Kennedy, Tim (Jeneene) Dickert, Theresa Dickert, Heather(John) Bradberg, and Jessica Solberg; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, 130 South 5th St in Evansville. An hour long visitation, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at ST PAUL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 39 Garfield St., Evansville, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. with Reverend Kevin Dooley officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Evansville. In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Evansville.
