Donald J. Foley, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 31, 1930, in Ashland, WI, the son of Henry and Rosalie (Hebert) Foley. Don was a graduate of DePaduan High School, Ashland, WI. He was a member of the National Guard. Don married Margaret McKinnon on Sept. 21, 1951, in Ashland, WI.
Don was formerly employed by the City of Beloit as the Personnel Manager. He, then, was employed by the State of Wisconsin as a Labor Relation Specialist in the Department of Corrections for 21 years, retiring in January of 1991. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council #605 and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Don was a dedicated and devoted family man.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Beloit, WI; children: Brad (Kathryn) Foley of Wausau, WI, Cindy Boss of Beloit, WI, Scott (Lynne) Foley of Cottage Grove, WI, Steven Foley of Beloit, and Julie (Stephen) Newport of Yorktown, VA; grandchildren: Amber Decker, Autumn (Lee) Clermont, Gary (Kelly) Boss, Jeffrey (Brenda) Boss, Brandon Foley, Caden Foley, Austin Foley, Ashley (Amit) Christian and Stacy Newport; step grandchildren, Kelsey, and Tyler Bortz; great grandchildren: Aidin Decker, Baston Decker, Sarah Boss, Nathan Boss, Brianna Boss, Aiden Christian and Addyson Schmudlach; brother and sisters: Charlie (Margie) Foley of Detroit, MI, Dorothy (Joe) Scholl of Bayfield, WI, and Carol (Chuck) Lessard of Hayward, WI. He was predeceased by his parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fitzgerald and Beloit Regional Hospice for the care given to Don.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Inurnment will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be given to the Beloit Regional Hospice.
