Muriel B. Topp, age 91, of Janesville, WI, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Muriel was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Janesville, the daughter of Arvard Carlson and Constance (Mortensen) West. She was married to John H. Topp Sr. They later divorced; he passed away in June 1983. Muriel worked at Borg's and SSI, retiring in 2006.
Muriel is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Duncan; a son, John H. Topp, Jr., both of Janesville; four grandchildren: Cindy (Bill Schreiber) Clark, Kim Duncan, both of Janesville, Rick (Cheryl) Duncan of Kansas City, MO and Jodi (Josh) Lysne of Minneapolis, MN; five great-grandchildren: Jessica (John) Nottestad, Emily (Justin Schroeder) Walhovd, Noah Walhovd, Zachary Duncan and Kelly Hanlon; four great-great-grandchildren: Jayce, Jossalyn, Jordyn and Austin; a sister, Jackie Cookson of Milton, WI; a brother, Bill (Pat) Powers of Milwaukee, WI; and her special former granddaughter-in-law, Darcy Duncan.
Muriel is predeceased by a grandson and his wife, Gary (Julie) Duncan; a sister, Nancy Howard; and two brothers, Don Powers and Phillip Carlson.
Private family services will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, Janesville, with Reverend Naomi Garber officiating. Inurnment will follow at Milton Lawns Mausoleum.
