John J. Dewey, Janesville  (1953 - 2012)

John J. Dewey, age 59, of Janesville, died on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. He was born in Janesville on Nov. 14, 1953, the son of Floyd and Eleanor (Kauffman) Dewey. He graduated with top honors from UW-Whitewater with a degree in history and had been employed by the Janesville Mall. John participated in many Civil War reenactments and was a great history buff.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Christopher Dewey. He is survived by his four siblings: Kittie Lee of Janesville, Basil Dewey of Waunakee, Philomena Dewey of Janesville, and Mary Dewey of Gainesville, FL; nephew, Christopher Williams of Milton; two nieces, Didi King of Oregon, WI, and Susan Driscoll of Grafton, WI; four great nieces; four great nephews; and his beloved cat, Spock.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
