September 21, 1932 - November 25, 2012
Margaret A. "Maggie" Johnson, age 80, of Janesville, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Cedar Crest Health Care Center. She was born in the Township of Dane, Dane County, WI. on Sept. 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Norbert and Marie (Kaul) Munz. Maggie graduated from Lodi High School. On Nov. 18, 1972, she married Robert O. Johnson and they moved to Janesville, at that time. They were members of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Maggie and her husband were both very active with the Janesville VFW Post #1921, where she had served as past president of the Women's Auxiliary.
A strong person of faith, Maggie raised her children with traditional family values, which they all practice and cherish to this day. Even though she could be stern and strict at times, she always supported their activities, she always had a sense of humor and she could always make them laugh. Maggie enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and other children in the neighborhood, while at the same time, she would be making baked goods for all of them.
Maggie is survived by her children: David (Yvonne) Christian of Racine, WI, Jack (Kathy) Christian of Janesville, WI, Carl (Brenda) Christian of Racine, Jerome Johnson of Janesville, RoseMarie (Rick) Farnsworth of Milton, WI, Richard (Becky) Johnson of Beloit, WI, and Scott Johnson of Columbus, GA; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Cleo Hoffman; and three brothers: Louie Munz, David (Kathy) Munz and Bob Munz; and three step-sons: Richard, Daniel and David Johnson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Allen; two sisters and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the CHURCH.
Until we meet again, "Angel on your shoulder!"
