Noreen P. Desing, 88, of Evergreen Parkway Elkhorn, WI, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1924. She was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gibbs) Hicks. Noreen graduated from Lake Geneva High School with the Class of 1942. On June 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert C. Desing in Lake Geneva, WI. Bob died July 4, 1999. Noreen and Bob farmed in the Town of Geneva for over 41 years, until retiring in 1983. Noreen was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn. She enjoyed traveling, knitting and watching sports, especially Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Noreen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bob; two brothers, John and Lauren Hicks. She is survived by her brothers; her children: Julie (Steve Gabor) Stokes, Jay (Mary Beth) Hicks and Jeanine (Joe) Kopecky and by Howard (Coe) Reynolds, the son Noreen never had; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Desing and Sr. Shean Marie Desing. She is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday Oct. 8, 2012, at the First EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH 415 Devendorf Street Elkhorn, WI, with Rev. David Rau officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery East Troy, WI. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, from 3 until 5 p.m. at HAASE-LOCKWOOD & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn and at CHURCH on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made in Noreen’s name to the church.
