Grant A. Everson, Orfordville, WI  (1921 - 2012)

Grant A. Everson, age 90, of Orfordville, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at his home, the family farm, the same house he was born in. He was born on Dec. 22, 1921, the son of Torris and Clara (Clemetson) Everson. He graduated from Orfordville High School. Grant married Verla M. Zettle on Dec. 4, 1949, in Orangeville, IL. He farmed in Plymouth township his entire life, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Luther Valley Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He served on the Cemetery board, belonged to AMPI, and used to enjoy bowling in his younger years.
Grant is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Steve) Noss of Orfordville, and Carolyn McKeown of Janesville; granddaughters, Kimberly (John) Cunningham of Janesville, and Karla (Don) Hildebrandt of South Beloit; a step-grandson, Mike McKeown, Jr. of Janesville; six great-grandchildren: Ellie, Ryan and Tess Hildebrandt, Kylie and Molly Cunningham and Brooklyn McKeown. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Verla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday Oct. 16, 2012, at LUTHER VALLEY CHURCH, rural Orfordville, with Pastor Mary Froiland officiating. Burial will be in East Luther Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m., at the EVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Brodhead. A special thank you to Grant’s caregivers and best friends, Cindy and Rob. Memorials may be given in Grant’s name to Luther Valley Church or Agrace Hospice.
