Daniel Joseph Hering, 69, of Sharon, WI, died Thursday Oct. 18, 2012, at his home. He was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Cary, IL, to William J. and Matilda F. (Lyons) Hering. He married Diane L. Martin on April 19, 1969, in Cary, IL. Daniel was very community minded; he was a Village of Sharon trustee for over 20 years, a charter member of the Sharon Lions Club, a member of the Moser-Ortmann American Legion Post and an active member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. Dan and his wife Diane delivered meals on wheels. Daniel enjoyed golfing, working in the yard and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; children, Peter (Chris) Hering of Sharon, WI and Kate (Michael) Nondahl of West Allis, WI; grandchildren: Austin, Logan and Parker; and a brother, William (Jacqueline) Hering of Lodi, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Walter Hering.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at SAUNDERS & MCFARLIN FUNERAL HOME, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at ST. CATHERINE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 125 Pearl St., Sharon, WI 53585. Monsignor William Schwartz will officiate. Interment will be at St. Catherine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hering Family.
