Maurine Benish, age 75, of Janesville, died on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. She was born in Janesville on March 6, 1937, the daughter of Clarence and Eileen (Burke) Schumacher. She married Clifford A. Benish on Jan. 24, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Janesville, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2003. Maurine worked as a Registered Nurse for Mercy Hospital and Rock County Health Care Center. She enjoyed playing cards, was an avid traveler, going to Casinos and socializing. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church, Janesville.
Maurine is survived by her four children: Roger (Jacqueline) Benish of Glen Falls, NY, Karen (Michael) Miller of Madison, Ronald (Sarah) Benish and Brian (Julie Dahlgren) Benish, both of Janesville; seven grandchildren: Alexander, Jonathan, Briana, Zachary, Jennifer, Jessica and Jacqueline; brother, Richard (Helen) Schumacher of Janesville; and a sister, Charlotte McWilliams of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Prestin; and a sister, Isla Schumacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at ST. WILLIAMS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville, with Fr. John Auby officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, from 4 until 7 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville.
