Michael P. Hill, Janesville  (1947 - 2012)

Michael P. Hill, age 65, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, surrounded by his family, at Select Specialty Hospital, Madison. He was born in Terre Haute, IN, on June 12, 1947, the son of Paul and Virginia (Cartwright) Hill. He graduated from Janesville Senior High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969. Michael married Joyce Thompson in St. William Catholic Church, Janesville, on July 20, 1968. He had been employed by General Motors, retiring after 43 years in 2008. He was a member of the UAW Local 95 and the VFW Post 1621. He enjoyed old cars, fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and family dinners “Brady Bunch.”
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joyce Hill of Janesville; three children: Troy (Jo Ann) Hill of Janesville, Jodi (Eric) Reuterskiold of Milton, and Jeff Hill of Janesville; five grandchildren: John, Michael, Amanda, Riley and Libby; one great-grandson, Avery; mother, Virginia Hill; and brother, Steve Hill; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; infant daughter, Tracy Jo; father-in-law, Harry Thompson; and mother-in-law, Nira Thompson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. James Kuhn officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
