Robert “Bob” A. Arnold, 74, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, in his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Plymouth Township, WI, the son of Chester and Jessie (Babcock) Arnold. Robert married Darlene Hartman on Sept. 29, 1956, at St. John Lutheran Church, in Beloit, WI. Robert was employed by Govert Brothers Well Drilling and the Rock County Highway Department, retiring in 2000. He attended Luther Valley Lutheran Church. Robert enjoyed woodworking, doing yard work around his house as well as turkey and deer hunting. He loved reading western books.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Darlene Hartman of Beloit; three children: Bruce (Kim) Arnold of Dade City, FL, Scott (Ruth) Arnold of Afton, WI, and Donna (Chris) Burns of Beloit; four grandchildren: Chet Arnold, Matt (Ashley) Burns, Becky Burns, and Katie Severson; a brother, Ron (Jean) Arnold of Janesville, WI; sister, Linda Rhinehardt of AL; eight sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Richard; nephew, Steve Arnold; and eight brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Mary Froiland officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
