Joseph D. Tracey, Prairie du Chien, WI  (1951 - 2012)

Joseph D. Tracey, age 60, of Prairie du Chien, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012. He was born on Nov. 15, 1951, the son of Joseph and Helen (Nelson) Tracey. Joseph served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked on the family farm and later on restoring antique warplanes. He served as a counselor for Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe worked as a glassblower for a time and enjoyed touring the U.S. on his motorcycle. He was a collector of artifacts and antiques.
Joseph is survived by his fiancée and the love of his life, Rose Hale of Prairie du Chien; a son, Jon Tracey of Urbandale, IA; three sisters: Patti (Jeff) Schwartzlow of Milton, WI, Ann (Joe Endicott) Rosenau of Madison, WI, and Marie (Troy Mobley) Greenwood of Beloit, WI; a brother, Chad Tracey of Janesville, WI; five grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH in Prairie du Chien, Rev. Christian Maxfield officiating, with burial in the Blakes Prairie Cemetery in Bloomington, WI. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Friends may call on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the GARRITY FUNERAL HOME in Prairie du Chien, and at the CHURCH on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
