Ramona R. Casillas, Delavan, WI (2012)

Ramona R. Casillas, age 73, of Delavan, WI, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in Cotulla, TX. Ramona was born in South Dakota, the third child of eight to Pablo and Juanita Rodriguez. She lived throughout her life in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Texas. In 1954, she met her soul mate, companion and lifelong partner, Pablo Casillas. They were married in 1956, and were together for 56 years. They lived in Cotulla, TX, and in 1965, young and with four small children, they traveled to Delavan, WI, and later to Williams Bay, where they purchased their home. Three more children were added to their family and they settled there for 40 years. In 2007, they moved to Delavan, and returned to Cotulla, TX, for the winters. The love and happiness of her family is what gave her strength and her strength is what has given our family the legacy of being the best parents ever.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Pablo Casillas of Texas; daughter-in-law, Vicki Casillas of Washington; six daughters: Josie (Brian) Schlueter, Rachael Lamb, Isabel (Nathan) Kluge, Trisha (Mike) Fitzmaurice, Sandra (Curtis) Kirkpatrick, Sonja Casillas; grandson, Daniel (Kris) Casillas, as well as 15 other grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Pauline Roehling, Marie Hughs, Cathy Miller and Lynda Guevara; two brothers, Rubin and Johnny Rodriguez; Also Lynda Rodriguez, Edward (Maria) Guevara and Juan Rodriguez, whom we thank for giving our wife, mother and grandmother many more years to be with us. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jon Casillas; and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at ST. ANDREW'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Delavan, WI, with Fr. Jim Schuerman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the CHURCH on Friday. Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery. MONROE FUNERAL HOME in Delavan, WI, is assisting the family.
