Robert L. Miller, age 86, of Janesville, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at home. He was born on July 21, 1926, in Watertown, WI, the son of Byron and Martha (Schroeder) Miller and served in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater from 1946-1949. He married Evelyn Leatherberry on April 3, 1946, in LaFarge, WI. Bob was employed at General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1988. He was a Life Member of the VFW and American Legion and a member of UAW Local 95. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards
Bob is survived by his wife, Evelyn; six children: Bobby (Juanita) Miller of Brodhead, Jimmy Miller of Janesville, Michael (Susie) Miller of St. Cloud, FL, Larry (Lois) Miller of Greensboro, GA, Bryan (special friend, Tootie Behrens) Miller of Whitewater, and Donna (Rick) McEndree of Whitewater; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, with number 27 due in May; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Byron Miller and Howard (Shirley) Widner, both of Janesville; three sisters: Delores (Marvin) Swenson of Janesville, Rosemary Anderson of Neilsville, WI, and Darla (Ernie) Schreier of Cashton. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Hallie Widner, Sr; step mother, Louise Widner Miller; brother, Hallie Widner, Jr; sister, Shirley Widner; and an aunt, Leona “Onie” Dickerson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Entombment with full military rights will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the FUNERAL HOME.
