Marlin E. "Gene" Schenck, Beloit, WI  (1928 - 2013)

Marlin E. “Gene” Schenck, 84, of Beloit, WI, died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Avon, SD, the son of Roy and Emily (Perrett) Schenck, Sr. Marlin was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He married Carol Jean McDowell in 1965, in Rockford, IL. Marlin was formerly employed by Beloit Corporation, Rockwell International and United Industries, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed working in his garden growing vegetables for his family and friends, playing cards, bowling and reading Louis La’Mour and Zane Grey books. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan. Marlin loved the outdoors during the warm weather and always stayed busy.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Schenck of Beloit, WI; children: Pamela (Larry) Berger of Janesville, WI, Jerome Schenck of South Beloit, IL, Cheryl (Tom) Keller and Amber Schenck, both of Clinton, WI; grandchildren: Brandon, Daniel, Ashley, Travis, Heather, Courtney and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Ellyse; brothers, Richard (JoAnn) Schenck of Windsor, WI, and Burt (Shirley) Schenck of Janesville, WI; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers: infant Robert, Roy, Jr. and Raymond; one sister, Mildred Cash; and nephew, George Cash. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and his beloved dog, Zeus.
The family would like to thank Beloit Paramedics and the Beloit Memorial Hospital ER staff for assisting with the care of Gene.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Jonah Burakowski officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.
