Mavis Jean Mercier, Delavan, WI (2013)

Mavis Jean Mercier, age 73, of Delavan, WI, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at her home. Mavis was born in Minnesota, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Tebben) Cornelius. On Oct. 27, 1990, Mavis married Frank "Frenchy" L. Mercier. Frank preceded her in death on May 22, 2012. Mavis worked at Fairhaven in Whitewater, for several years until her retirement. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater. Mavis loved to feed her birds and enjoyed cooking for family functions, crafts, and quilting.
Surviving are her children: Michael Beck of Los Angeles, CA, Sandy (Michael) Fox of Palmyra, WI, and Linda (Marty) Walling of Fort Atkinson, WI; step-son, David Mercier of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren: Matthew Beck, Shella Zaragoza, Tara Thompson, Michael Fox, Kayla Fox, Janelle Fox, Joseph Fox, Robert Ripley, Tammy Studzinski, and Martina Walling; step-grandchildren, Dave Mercier and Neil Mercier; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Marvin Cornelius of Rochester, MN; and her sister, Diane (Red) DeYoung of Rochester, MN. Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Ripley; brother, Arvid Cornelius; and two sisters, Dorothy Haskins and Yvonne Kranz.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the NITARDY FUNERAL HOMES, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, WI, with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the NITARDY FUNERAL HOME, Whitewater, WI, until the time of the services.
