Darlene Joyce Schumacher, Janesville  (1938 - 2013)

Darlene Joyce Schumacher, age 74, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center, Janesville, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 24, 1938, in Donald, WI, the daughter of Lorence and Lela (Winger) Muchow. She was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Darlene married Leo "Dutch" Schumacher, Jr. on June 6, 1959, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Evansville, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2009. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and crafting. Darlene and Dutch were avid Badger fans and loved to go to the games. She truly enjoyed her family and loved her grandchildren, including her loyal dog, Ginger.
Darlene is survived by her children: Brian (Jackie) Schumacher, Denise (Gil) DeCremer, Stacey Schumacher, all of Janesville: four grandchildren: Jon and Cheryl Schumacher, Jacob Janes, Emilie (David) Glindinning; two brothers, Clifford (Carol) Muchow of Evansville, and Jerry (Joyce) Muchow of Kentucky; and a sister, Lois Sellnow of Evansville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; and brother-in-law, Marvin Sellnow.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, Evansville, with Reverend Dr. Luke Bocher of the Congregational United Church of Christ, Evansville, officiating. A Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be held at a later date in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville.
