Marguerite E. McComb, Clinton, WI  (1915 - 2013)

Marguerite E. McComb, 97, of Clinton, WI, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in Alden Meadow Park Health Care Center. She was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Martin and Martha (Asvestad) Hagen. Marguerite married Anthony Walter Navarro on Aug. 28, 1936, in Belvidere, IL. He predeceased her in 1981. She married Donald Charles McComb on April 26, 1986, in Portage, WI. He predeceased her on Sept. 19, 2004. Marguerite and Tony raised their five children on a farm by Portage until they divorced in 1971. She loved to garden and canned everything she could to feed her family. She cooked for Marcellon and Pardeeville Schools and later drove school bus for several school districts. She had a terrific sense of humor and could tell jokes for hours. Marguerite also loved to sing and dance. After marrying Don McComb in 1986, they spent their 18 years together traveling to Alaska, and most of the western states, finally settling down in Payson, AZ, until returning to Wisconsin in 2004. She lived at Ridgestone Village in Delavan, from June of 2007 until August of 2012, at which time she moved to Alden Meadow Park Nursing Home in Clinton, WI.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Ridgestone Village and Alden Meadow Park for the excellent care she received.
Survivors include her three children: Carole Jean (Larry) Hoffer of Portage, WI, Diane Marie (John) Richter of Clinton, WI, and Ronald (Lila) Navarro of Bonners Ferry, ID; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; sons, James Howard Navarro and David Arnold Navarro; brothers, Oscar and Arnold Hagen; sisters: Luella Dahlberg, Gerda Ingebretsen, Eva Hirschmugl, and Ingeborg Baxter.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Reverend Dennis Pingel officiating.
Memorials may be given in Marguerite's name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
