Hattie E. Melahn, 93, of West Street, Elkhorn, WI, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at William Bay Care Center, Williams Bay, WI. She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Boyceville, WI, a twin daughter of the late Leonard and Chloe (Harbit) Baker. She was united in marriage to Wilfred Melahn on Oct. 21, 1939, he died June 21, 1983. Hattie was a devoted homemaker and loving mother and wonderful grandmother.
Hattie is survived by five children: Barbara (Allen) Patten of Wautoma, WI, Eileen Collins of Sparta, WI, Larry (Janet) Melahn of Amery, WI, Richard (Mary) Melahn of Janesville, WI, and Gary Melahn of Delavan, WI; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Hettie Wilke of Woodstock, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years; two sons, Wilfred, Jr. and James; one brother, George Baker; and two sisters, Emma Munson and Laura Anderson.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 01, 2013, at HAASE-LOCKWOOD & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI, with Rev. Dr. Scott McLeod officiating.
