Shirley Irene Schmoldt, Monroe, WI (1935 - 2012)

Shirley Irene Schmoldt, age 77, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at her home. She was born on April 28, 1935, in Browntown, the daughter of Arthur and Bessie (Brecklin) Haeft. Shirley graduated from Monroe High School. Shirley and Willis Schmoldt were married on Dec. 3, 1955, in Monroe, WI. Shirley was a Customer Service Supervisor for Swiss Colony, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church and the Monroe Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and watching the Badgers, Brewers and the Braves. Shirley’s biggest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Willis Schmoldt of Monroe; children: Jeffrey (Pam) Schmoldt of Janesville, Gary (Nancy) Schmoldt of Monroe, Wendy (John) Eberle of Monroe, Bruce Schmoldt of Monroe, Brian (Valerie) Schmoldt of Janesville; her brother, Robert (Mary) Stauffacher of Monroe; grandchildren: Eric Schmoldt, Kevin (Kimberly) Schmoldt, Samantha (Christopher) Koncki, Kristopher Eberle, Rebecca Eberle, Jeremy (Molly Allen) Eberle, Everett Schmoldt, Alex Schmoldt, Carly Schmoldt; great-grandchildren: Ayden and Brody Kirichkow, and Brayden Eberle.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene Haeft; sister, Arlene Fryer; and brother, William Stauffacher.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at MONROE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the CHURCH prior to the service.
In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy, Memorials may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Monroe United Methodist Church, for use in the Children’s programs.
