Michael L. Leeder, Janesville, WI  (1948 - 2013)

Michael L. Leeder, age 64, a lifelong Janesville resident, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 1, 2013, at his home following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 23, 1948, in Janesville, the son of Leonard and Patricia (Shea) Leeder. Mike attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School, and then attended and graduated from Janesville High School. On Dec. 11, 1971, he married the former Kathleen R. Schema at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mike worked as a Carpenter/Foreman for over 18 years for Debco Corp., and worked on many commercial building and reconstruction projects around the Janesville area. Mike loved fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. His greatest love in life was spending time with his wife, children, and most of all, his beloved grandchildren! He will be missed as a most devoted and loving husband, dad, and grandpa!
Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy; his mom, Patricia Leeder of Janesville; his two daughters, Kristy (Jim) Lavigne of Frisco, TX, and Angie (Jeremy) Miller of Oconomowoc, WI; his five siblings: Jack Leeder of Janesville, Jan Leeder of Suprise, AZ, Tom Leeder of San Diego, CA, Bill Leeder of Detroit, MI, and MaryAnn (John) Cooper of Janesville; his six beloved grandchildren: Nicole and Jessica Lavigne, Jordan, Chloe, Bella, and Caleb Cooper; his dear nieces and nephew: Rachel Hansen, Joey and Anna Cooper; his loving companion, his dog "Pepper"; and by many friends. Mike was preceded in death by his dad, Leonard Leeder.
A Memorial Mass will be held to celebrate Mike's life at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 313 E. Wall St., with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials in his name may be made to Beloit Regional Hospice, 655 Third St., Beloit, WI 53511.
