Steven M. Peters, age 56, of Milton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Azura Memory Care in Clinton, WI. Steven was born March 25, 1956, in Rockford, IL, the son of Kenath and Judith (Carlson) Peters. He graduated high school in Rockford, IL. Steven married Janet Lindh Jan. 2, 2010, at Hope Lutheran Church in Milton. Steven worked as an outside sales rep. for ISP in Roscoe, IL, and, then, for Unisource Company after they bought ISP. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Milton. He liked woodworking, enjoyed socializing with family and friends, and spending time up north at his family cottage. Steven loved to bowl. He bowled twice in the U.S. Open and was a member of the Beloit Bowling Hall of Fame. He was president for the Classic Bowling League at Diamond Yards in Beloit, WI.
Steven is survived by his wife, Janet Peters of Milton; his children, Alison L. Peters of Oshkosh, WI, and Matthew S. (Ashley) Peters of Madison, WI; five grandchildren; his mother, Judith Peters; and grandmother, Inez Carlson of Loves Park, IL; his step-son, Richard Hess; mother of his children, Sandra Peters; brothers and sister: Diane (Gary) Hill of Roscoe, IL, Dr. Karen (Dr. David) Baranski of Kirkwood, MO, and David K. Peters of Rockford, IL. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Kenath Peters; a son-in-law, Sean Hess; paternal grandparents, Bertram and Lucile Peters; grandfather, Einar Carlson; grandfather, Steven Peters; mother-in-law, Jane Lindh; and sister-in-law, Beth Lindh.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, Milton, with Rev. Richard Collier and Pastor Herbert Saunders officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery. Visitation time will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the CHURCH.
